Available Truck Classes
The N-Series Gas lineup includes Class 3 and Class 4 trucks while the Diesel lineup features Class 4 and 5 trucks. Class 3 trucks weigh 10,001 to 14,000 pounds. Class 4 trucks weigh in from 14,001 to 16,000 pounds, while Class 5 trucks weigh between 16,001 and 19,500 pounds.
Towing and Hauling
The base model of the N-Series Gas has a gross vehicle weight rating of 12,000 pounds and a gross cargo weight rating of 18,000 pounds. The standard N-Series Diesel truck increases the GVWR to 14,500 pounds and the GCWR to 20,500 pounds. The gas model has a payload of up to 6,807 pounds while the diesel model can haul up to 8,511 pounds.
Power and Performance
Both the gas and diesel powertrains have a six-speed automatic transmission. The N-Series Gas has a standard 350-horsepower engine that delivers 425 pound-feet of torque, and you’ll get 215 hp and 452 pound-feet of torque with the N-Series Diesel. Each truck features standard 16-inch steel wheels.
The latter includes a standard exhaust brake, which isn’t available for the standard gas model. A dual fuel tank, a vertical exhaust system, an air deflector, a block heater and receptacle, and an oil pan engine heater are available.
Space and Utility
Both the gas and diesel N-Series models offer a two-door standard or a four-door crew cab. The standard cab includes a bench seat that fits three across. You’ll also have air conditioning, power doors, and power windows with either powertrain. Standard tech includes Bluetooth, an AM/FM radio, and a CD player. Options for the N-Series include a touchscreen audio system and keyless entry.
The smallest bed size is 10 feet for the gas truck and 12 feet for the diesel. You can get a maximum 20-foot bed with either powertrain if you choose the standard cab and up to 16 feet with the crew cab. The gas models have a 38.6-gallon gas tank with a 40-gallon fuel tank in the diesel models.
Safety Features
Both N-Series lineups have standard daytime running lights and a fire extinguisher behind the seat. Remote heated exterior mirrors are optional. You can also add a backup alarm and high-visibility seatbelts.
